What are your career aspirations?
I want to enhance my portfolio in the areas pertaining to industrial and manufacturing engineering by gaining valuable work experience, which I believe would eventually lead to me becoming a master problem solver, capable of solving challenging problems and pressing issues in an industry and on the shop floor.
Why did you decide to apply for an internship with MI?
Apart from the fact that MI Windows and Doors is one of the leading companies in the fenestration industry, the culture and work ethic among the employees is something that is highly noticeable and excellent as well.
Who did you work with?
I worked in the Quality and Continuous Improvement Department. My mentor was Wally Gordon, the glass technical services manager. I was also closely supervised by Cristen Baca, the VP of Quality and CI.
What did you enjoy most?
The best part about MI is that there is always something to learn every single day. The employees, managers, supervisors, and every other person who is a part of MI was so welcoming and informative. The workload assigned to me was highly balanced with detailed guidance from my superiors. The fact that MI has so much to offer in terms of learning, culture, safety, and many other industrial aspects makes it the best place to be a part of.
