Intern

What are your career aspirations?
I hope to learn more about distribution processes and new innovations in the field of supply chain. Working for a large national/international distributor is my career objective.

Why did you decide to apply for an internship with MI?
I chose to intern with MI after learning more about the company and its values. Learning of MI’s multiple locations throughout the country was intriguing to me. I also really admired how MI gives back to the local community.

Who did you work with?
I worked with Michael Barlow, senior manager of logistics. He provided me answers to any questions I had and guided me into the different areas I needed to focus on.

How did you add value to MI?
[MI] never really had a report that ... looked into shipment times for every carrier, so to be able provide the initial reporting for that felt like a big accomplishment.

What did you enjoy most?
I really enjoyed the opportunity to analyze weekly shipments from the Hegins and Gratz facilities. It’s truly amazing how many windows are sent out from these two locations each week. Learning more about SB client proved to be very informative and helpful in gaining a better understanding of how the company serves its customers.
