MI Generates Nearly $80,000 For Breast Cancer

Determined to do its part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the MI Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that it generated nearly $80,000 in October in the fight against breast cancer. The MI Foundation started the month by committing $25,000 donations to both the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This is the third straight year that the MI Foundation has donated to these two worthy beneficiaries.

Continuing with tradition, this was also the third year MI Windows and Doors switched the color of its NFRC product labels to pink for the month of October. Now that the Milgard brand is part of MI, we were excited by the opportunity to spread even more awareness by also utilizing pink NFRC labels on Milgard windows and doors.

In addition to those contributions, the MI Foundation raised nearly $20,000 additional funds through an online donor program and by selling pink merchandise. All proceeds from the merchandise fundraiser will split between breast cancer charities local to our facilities across the country. On top of that, the MI Foundation donated an additional $10,000, thanks to our community’s support of our social media campaign and product registrations.

All of this largesse would not have been possible without the support of MI’s customers, suppliers, team members, and friends.

“We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this a truly successful Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” MI CEO Matt DeSoto said. “The fight against breast cancer has been a major focus of ours since the beginning of the MI Foundation. We’re grateful for the opportunity to do our part to help those in need.”
